- Free translation from German definition: Type of rock in the transition area from diagenesis to metamorphosis. They are dense, fine clastic rocks with colours such as black, blackish grey, bluish grey, greenish, yellowish, red and violet. They have a narrow cleavage where rock can be split in the millimeter range.
