Scope note

  • Magistrates in ancient Athens. The epimeletai of the Mysteries were four in number and were elected by the Demos, two from all the Athenians, and one each from among the Eumolpidae and the Kerykes. Their duty was to administer the Eleusinian Mysteries obeying the orders of the Basileus.
