Scope note

  • Structures of perceptions, beliefs and values that constitute the background of social representations, which the members of a social group share in order to give sense to societal function and to identify or claim their position within society. Ideologies are the intellectual and legitimating framework that organizes the social groups’ practices and aspirations, particularly in regard to other groups and to power structures.
