- Τhe elder types of Commedia dell’ arte are the parents of young people in love (innamorati), shouting, advising, displaying austerity, glorifying old times and mistreating others. But sometimes they fall in love with a young woman or a widow and at other times they marry the maid. They are mocked when they pretend to be openhanded.
