Scope note
- Form of tourism centered on the practice of peripatetic walking in sites of cultural and/or natural interest that aims at embodied experience and close acquaintance with the place. Walking tourism is included in the wider category of "slow" tourism which, in contrast to mass tourism, emphasises traveling in environmentally friendly and economically sustainable ways.
