Scope note
- Nuggets of rough irregular ingots of bronze, of unequal weight and without any official stamp or mark, used as a proto-currency, mainly in northern and central Italy. Aes rude were first introduced during the 8th c. BCE and were produced until the end of the 4th or maybe even the first half of the 3rd c. BCE.
