Scope note

  • An initially annual position that occurs in ancient Athens from the year 434 BCE onwards. The treasurers of the Other Gods were ten in number and they had the duty to concentrate the treasures of the various temples on the Acropolis, in front of the Assembly. For some time, they were also in charge of certain public payments in place of the apodektai.
