Scope note
- The weight standard that was introduced by Darius I, who at first followed Croesus’ standard, with a silver stater of 10.75 gr. and a gold stater of 8.06 gr. Later on, he adopted a weight of 8.36 gr. for the gold stater (dareikos) and 5.5 gr. for the silver stater (siglos).
