Scope note
- A talent is a copper ingot in the shape of an ox-hide, in use as a medium of exchange before the invention of coinage. Later on, it was used as a unit of weight; an Attic talent, e.g. was the equivalent of 60 minas or 6,000 drachms and its weight was 26.196 kg.
