Scope note
- An office that appears in ancient Athens. The secretary of the Council was a member of the Council belonging to a tribe other than the one of the serving prytany. He was elected for the duration of a prytany, and his task was the publication, classification and keeping of official documents. His name was recorded in the prescript of decrees for archiving purposes.
