Scope note
- Christians who follow one of the numerous Churches, which emerged gradually after a large part of European Christianity split off from the Roman Catholic Church in the 16th century. Despite their differences, all Protestants reject the supremacy of the Pope and the Roman Catholic prescriptions as to Christian sacraments, clergy, and religious practices.
