Scope note
- A type of archaic alphabet that gathers common features of the alphabets of Corinth, the Ionian Islands, the islands of the eastern Aegean (Rhodes, Samos, Chios, etc.), cities of Western Asia Minor, Cilicia and Hellespont, as well as Macedonia, Thrace and Cyprus. The name of the alphabet was established in 1887 by Adolf Kirchhoff.
