- An office that appears in ancient Athens. This is the second honorary office (apart from that of proxenos) with which the Council and the Assembly honored foreign citizens for the services they provided to the Athenian Demos. Usually the title of euergetes was conferred together with that of the proxenos in cases of prominent persons.
