Anwendungshinweise

  • Protestant Christians who constitute the third most numerous Christian community after the Catholics and the Eastern Orthodox. Anglicans originate in the secession of the Church of England from the Pope in the 16th century. Anglican Churches, which acknowledge the Archbishop of Canterbury as "primus inter pares", emphasize the importance of the Bible, of apostolic succession, and of Church tradition, constituting thus a middle way between Catholicism and the radical aspects of Protestantism (i.e. Calvinism). This is evident also in the hierarchical structure of Anglican Churches, as in the existence of monastic communities.
